Farmers in Central Texas Are Staying Afloat Amid Drought Thanks to Clean Energy

Thanks to land lease payments from clean energy projects, farmers in Central Texas are managing to stay afloat financially in spite of an ongoing drought and record high temperatures that have forced some to cut crop production nearly in half, reports the Houston Chronicle

“My banker is a lot happier knowing I have these windmills,” said one farmer who is leaning on the annual $48,000 he receives for hosting wind turbines on his land.
